Things To Do in Warwickshire

Experience the best of Warwickshire...

Warwickshire is full of historic parks, monuments and welcoming villages.

If you have time to venture a little way from the DoubleTree Stratford-upon-Avon Hotel, there are lots of things to do and see in Warwickshire.

WARWICK CASTLE

Walk in the footsteps of royalty

The magnificent Warwick Castle is over 1000 years old and is one of this country’s most action and history-packed venues. The Castle has an action-packed calendar including birds of prey shows, live jousting, Halloween and Christmas events, so be sure to find out what’s going on and book your tickets in plenty of time.

SHAKESPEARE’S BIRTHPLACE

Feel at home with Shakespeare

You can’t visit Stratford without coming across William Shakespeare, one of the world’s greatest and most performed playwrights. This little house, in the centre of Stratford, is where the town’s most famous export was born and the perfect place to imagine yourself sitting at his desk, penning a great play of your own.

AVON BOATING

A day worth a punt.

Rowing boats, self-drive punts and motor cruisers are all available for you to hire from Avon Boating throughout summer. If there are eight of you, you can hire a Big Canoe, and take on the rest of the fleet, but if peace and quiet is more your style, row a little further and picnic on the bank, under a shady tree before returning to the excitement of the boating station.

SHAKESPEARE’S DISTILLERY

To gin or not to gin?

Like so much of Stratford, this new Distillery is inspired by the Elizabethan writer, and many characters and ingredients which appear in the plays are referenced in the artisan gin and rum made here. Now on the Drayton Manor Farm Estate, you can choose from a range of experiences, from a tour and tasting session, to a gin school, cocktail masterclasses and even an hour-long river cruise.
